Hiwi Position Offer

The Knowledge-based Systems Group is looking for two student workers for software development and maintenance within the PLATAS project funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). The aim of the project is to acquire tractable and practiable yet logically expressive agent systems by integrating latest development in the fields of action logics and planning techniques. For this purpose, an existing Prolog-based Golog framework is to be extended with fast state-of-the-art planners as well as efficient reasoning techniques for incomplete knowledge bases.

Qualifications

Ideally, a candidate

  • is interested in the implementation of AI methods,
  • works accurately and produces readable code,
  • is very skilled in Prolog programming and debugging,
  • attended the lecture "Introduction to Knowledge Representation" or "The Logic of Knowledge Bases" offered by our group
    (or has otherwise acquired the corresponding background knowledge),
  • is not unfamiliar with Linux, C and C++ and
  • is proficient in written and spoken English.

Contract

We offer fixed-term contracts of 6 months with the option for renewal. Working times can be arranged flexibly between 10 and 14 hours per week. Moreover, the job offers a good opportunity to prepare for a later Master's Thesis or Diplomarbeit.
